A commissioned painting is more than a personalized piece of art, it is an amalgamation of subject, client, and artist. The completed individual work should more than represent a subject, it should give observers a sense of inner life and personality. Commissions give the client a chance to create a permanent, unique and emotive connection with those who view the piece, be it upon the presentation of the completed work, or generations into the future.
Commissioned pieces are as varied and unique as the clients who request them. Prices are based on the size and complexity of the individual painting.
I work in acrylic on wrapped, stretched canvas. The canvas profile depth and dimensions can be selected to suit the client. Traditional profile (3/4") is recommended for those desiring to frame their painting. Deeper profiles are available for those looking for a "ready-to-hang" piece where framing will not be necessary.
I work from refernece photos, but prefer to avoid working in a "photo-realistic" style. You can see examples of my painting style by visiting my gallery of work or checking out by blog (links above). I appreciate having clear photos of my subjects in their element, and when possible, will visit my client to take photographs myself. All photographs provided by the client will be returned upon project completion and final payment.
