Born in rural Illinois in the 70's, Joyce Brandon grew up with an affinity for art and nature. If she wasn't outdoors fishing or hiking her imagination was taking flight in books or sketches.
She attended college in Oklahoma to receive an education in Animal Science and met her future husband at the age of 18. Through the years of marriage, children and building a family, her love of the natural world and creating art in it's image never faded.
Joyce enjoys a variety of mediums, she's currently focusing on creating works in acrylic, colored pencil and graphite. Larger works are painted on gallery wrapped canvas so the sides are staple free, giving collectors the freedom to hang with or without a frame. Other works, including ACEO pieces, are painted on 140# Canson watercolor papers, a pleasing heavy weight with gentle texture that takes the layers of paint well without buckling. All paintings are coated in non-yellowing protective varnish. Collectors can purchase with confidence, knowing all pieces are packaged with the utmost care and shipped quickly upon receipt of payment. The artist takes great pains to provide customers with a pleasant buying experience.
